Wood and its secrets

Wood, a wonderful material suitable for the construction of an infinite number of products, from the simplest to the most complex. Wood, a material that in recent decades has sometimes been supplanted by new materials and new manufacturing systems.

Especially in the sports sector, wooden equipment has been replaced by technological materials such as alloys, fibreglass, carbon, etc. It was a substantial upgrade in some products, think of skis, surfboards, tennis rackets, etc. But wood, if worked appropriately, has unsurpassed vibration dampening characteristics, which is fundamental in certain objects, such as archery.

The substantial problem with wood is its fragility, and in this case a riser must withstand very intense vibrational stress. Hence the idea of inventing and building a product, with an innovative and unique construction system worldwide, which could combine the possibility of dampening vibrations that only wood can provide, and the mechanical resistance that they offer today new materials such as various types of alloys and/or carbon. After over 18 assiduous months of structural tests and ballistic tests we managed to create an extremely stable, fast and non-deformable riser.

The soul of the riser is the central core created by 32 layers of wood with uninterrupted grain, superimposed and glued in a mold and pressed at 8.5 tons.

By doing so we created a definitive riser without interrupting the grain of the wood, this allowed us to create an extremely safe grip with whatever weight the archer wants to shoot. An important fact found is the total absence of frontal torsion which makes the riser extremely stable and fast. The side plates can optionally be requested with colors of your choice.

We have dedicated a lot of care to the grip which is Olympic type, therefore rather square to have excellent sensitivity to the pivot. The limb attachment is ILF, lateral adjustment with M8 Allen screws, therefore very robust. The grains obviously do not work directly on wood but inside a brass tube suitably shaped to house the pin. The bending adjustment screws have a metric M 8 pitch, they also have the possibility of locking, at the desired hover and tiller, using a grub screw with an M8 Allen key. The risers can also be equipped with internal weights to increase their weight and stability (only in the construction phase).

These risers fall perfectly within the World Archery, Fitarco, Fidasc, Fiarc parameters in the "Traditional Bow" category. We have created 3 sizes, 19 inches, 21 inches, 25 inches. The 25 inches, unlike the 19 and 21, It has a much longer window and can be equipped with: rest hole, clicker attachment holes, clicker pin mounting hole, viewfinder holes, stabilizer hole, additional holes for adding rear weights.

We have thus managed to create an Olympic riser entirely made of wood with exceptional performance equal to, if not superior to, top-of-the-range risers but with a notable reduction in vibrations
